Over the last several weeks there have been significant additions to AI platforms popular with teachers, such as MagicSchool, PlusAI, TeachMateAI, Adobe Firefly and Meta.

Here’s catching you up with some key updates:

MagicSchool has introduced several new tools to its popular teacher-assistant platform. For one, The Standards Unpacker Tool enables a teacher to “break down” standards into specific, manageable components “to understand exactly what students need to learn and achieve.” Teachers can break down a standard anywhere from Pre-K to College and receive instruction and assessment strategies, and more. Another new tool is the Group Work Generator, which generates group work for students aligned to a topic, standard, or objective of your choosing. Teachers can generate objects and tasks for new group activities.

Another addition is the Multiple Choice Assessment Generator. This tool generates a multiple choice assessment on any topic, standard(s), text, vocabulary list, diagnostic assessment, “and any other kind you can imagine.” Additional new MagicSchool AI tools include: Sentence Starters Generator, Thank You Note Generator, Gift Suggestion Generator, Quote of the Day Generator, and Teacher Joke Generator.

For its part, PlusAI had added a unique tool to its slide-presentation platform. PlusAI has joined forces with Jenni AI, an AI-powered writing and research assistant, and now you can quickly copy and paste a paper into Plus AI's Text to Presentation mode to convert it into a slide deck! Here’s an example of a paper turned into a 10-page slide deck.

TeachMateAI, a teaching assistant platform, has recently introduced a quiz generator to its list of teaching tools. Among its features, you can remove or regenerate questions and export to digital quiz tools or Word. TeachMateAI has also developed new tools for its SEND & Adaption collection, including the ability to create step-by-step instructions to support students in any task “from opening a PowerPoint file to using a protractor.”

Some weeks ago Adobe announced a big update to Firefly, its popular generative AI image creation tools. Adobe claims that Firefly is now better at generating images of humans, including facial features. Speaking of images, Meta has a new video and image editing tool called Emu that it plans to add to Facebook and Instagram. There are two parts: Emu Edit enables users to choose specific parts of a photo to edit them and Emu Video generate videos from text or image input.
