AI Tools Update Summer 2024

Summer tends to be the season when edtech companies introduce major new updates to their products. 

I’ve been tracking several developments:

  • MagicSchool has introduced a slew of new features:

    • Quiz Me! - Generate a quiz on any topic or type of test.

    • Student Support Chatbot - Customize a chatbot to support student needs and preferences.

    • Standard(s) Based Chatbot - Create a chatbot based on any standard and ask questions about the standard.

    • Chat with Docs - Have an AI-powered chat based on an uploaded resource.

    • Survey Creator - Create a survey.

    • 504 Plan Generator - Generate a draft of a 504 plan to support a student.

    • Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) - Generate a draft of an Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) for a student.

    • Support Goals Creator - Create a SMART goals tracker for students that is aligned with their needs. (Tier 2/3, MTSS, IEPs, etc.)

    • Social Media Post - Generate a strong social media post to share on popular platforms.

  • CoGrader has introduced CoGrader 2.0

    • CoGrader 2.0 enables the ability to add comments to student work.

  • Curipod has introduced new Customizable Lessons:

    • "Informational Writing with “Disaster Strikes” and “Leaving Earth” are designed to put students “at the center of an exciting mission.”

  • Canva has purchased Leonardo.ai, an AI art generation platform

    • The combined union of Canva and Leonardo.ai is expected to boost Canva’s Magic Studio.

  • Happy Grader, Timely Grader and Graded Pro are new AI graders on the market

    • Happy Grader is created by a veteran math and science teacher and integrates with Google Forms.

    • Timely Grader integrates seamlessly with Canvas.

    • Graded Pro is fully integrated with Google Classroom.
