The journey of AI in K-12 classrooms has been a tumultuous one, marked by both trepidation and transformative potential. When OpenAI released ChatGPT in late 2022, the educational landscape was poised for disruption, challenging conventional pedagogies and offering new frontiers in learning. Yet, despite rapid AI advances, educators remained mostly hesitant to introduce AI into classrooms and schools struggled to craft policies and guidelines for teachers.
